Brother Thomas Boyd Wilson, by authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood, and by a special call, which I received under the hands of an Apostle of the Lord, I give you your Patriarchal Blessing.

You have a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is a great tribute to you as a young man. It does not happen to most men at your age. They may believe but to have the Holy Spirit witness to your soul that this is the truth indicates that you are worthy in the sight of God. The Holy Spirit will not give this witness to a person who is not worthy. I declare by my power as a Patriarch that you will never doubt as long as you live. You know now, and you will continue to know throughout your days, that God lives, that He is real, that He can hear and answer your prayers, that the person whom we call Jesus Christ is your Christ and your Savior, that Joseph Smith was and is a Prophet of God divinely appointed to open up this Dispensation of the Gospel. You will have enough humility in your heart to recognize our living President and give him respect as a Prophet of God in your day. This is the greatest gift you will receive in your entire life. Cherish it with all your heart. And be humble enough to realize you can build upon this testimony. Your testimony will not become more real than it is now but your vision will be enlarged and your understanding will be increased. It will be a pearl of Great Price in your life. I bless you with strength and the desire to stand on your feet and bear your witness to others. Many whom you will associate with will not be as strong as you are. Let them lean on you just a little. In this way you will pick up part of the Savior’s Cross and be of assistance to them in their lives. You will assist them to arrive at their destiny.

You have made a decision by your free-agency to serve your country. You can do this with pride. Stand with your shoulders straight. Be happy and glad to have this opportunity. We have been told by modern revelation that this is a land, which is choice, above all other lands. We have been told that great men have been raised up by the Holy Spirit to be leaders and establish this great nation. However we elect our leaders and sometimes we elect men who are not perfect. They may make mistakes. But this is still the best country that you could have possibly been born in. So wear the colors with pride. And as you go among strangers you will make many new friends. Take the spirit of a missionary with you. You do not need to preach sermons. Teach the Gospel by the manner which you live and by the spirit you have as you walk through life. You will have opportunities to do good in the name of the Lord.

You have received the Melchizedek Priesthood. This is the Priesthood after the Order of the Son of God. It is also a very choice possession. Rise to the occasion and magnify your Priesthood. You are an agent of Jesus Christ. You are his agent, and if you serve valiantly, you will become a joint-heir with Christ of everything your Father has. You have been promised this most choice blessing in a modern revelation. Along with your Priesthood goes your lineage. You belong to the House of Israel. You descend through the House of Joseph and Ephraim. You have your own personal, individual mission to perform. The details will be unfolded as you walk the path of your life. But if you will magnify your Priesthood, and live worthy to be a part of the House of Israel, then you will have ample opportunity to prove your worth as a Son of God. You have the quality of leadership. Train and develop your gifts then the day will come that men holding the keys will call you to exercise your Priesthood to an extent that can bring you complete fulfillment in your life.

If you are worthy to walk in sacred places, the day will come that you will enter the House of the Lord. In that sacred pace you will make a covenant with your Heavenly Father that you will live the complete Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is really a renewal because you made this same covenant when you were baptized. But it becomes a little more sacred in the Temple. You will make a covenant to consecrate your time, your talent and your money to assist in building up the Kingdom of God here upon this earth. Now this is a real, a very real covenant you will make. It is not just a formality. When you make this covenant before God and Angels, do it with all your heart. Give unselfishly of everything you have to offer to this work. I promise you that you cannot really give away anything in the service of the Lord. What ever you contribute will come back into your life with interest. It will be multiplied and will bring joy and happiness into your life. Understanding will come into your mind and you will have a sweet, peaceful assurance. You will know you have found activities that will bring you rich fulfillment throughout the eternities.

I am impressed to tell you, you will find a lady that is worthy of you. And you will be worthy of her. You will create a new home and a new family and the destiny of that family will be largely in your hands. Take your Priesthood into your home and lead out in the family circle. Be like Joshua and say, “you know not what your neighbors will do but you and all those who live under your roof with you will serve the Lord.”

I question whether or not you know where you are headed in your life. I suggest that you make it a matter of prayer. Get down on your knees and give the Holy Spirit a chance to direct your footsteps in your life. Prayer and be a very real force in your life. With your testimony, and if you can further develop the gift of humility, the veil will become rather thin and you will be able to communicate rather easily.

You have developed a strong body. It is healthy and you have not had a desire to injure it in any way. Your physical body is the tabernacle, which houses your eternal spirit. It could become a handicap to your eternal spirit. In the resurrection your body will be cleansed and purified. It will be joined permanently to your spirit and the two together will be your soul. The reason prayer is so essential is that your body is not the same material as your spirit. Your spirit is spiritual and your body is physical. So in order for the veil to be thin you must be very much aware that you have spiritual senses. You must train these spiritual senses so you can contact spiritual persons. This will open up a storehouse of rich treasures in your life. Your talents will become greater than they are now. You will have desire to get down on your knees and thank your Heavenly Father for your many blessings. So I say again before you make your final decision do like Paul. He had a glorious vision seeing the resurrected Christ. You may not have an experience of this magnitude. The Holy Spirit can enlighten your mind, and when it happens, do like Paul and ask, “Lord, what will thou have me do with my life.” And when the answer comes be humble enough to follow the instructions.

The gift of life is very strong in you. You have strength, you have leadership, you have courage. You will be able to stand on your own feet and make your own way in the world. You and those you love will not want for anything you really need, if you are honest with the Lord.

I seal these blessings by my call as a patriarch. I feel very keenly that this is an inspired blessing. It has come to me from spiritual sources that I could relay it to you.
